3. 377ESITA or a -He has mentioned Mahavidya syllogisms. He lived between A. D. 1260-1320. For the details of his life and works &c. see Mr. Tripathi's Introduction to his Tarkasangraha No. III of the Gaekwad's Oriental Series.
4. witfararar-He appears to have been the pupil of Venkatanátha Vedantáchárya from the statement in the colophon of his Nyáyasára, a commentary on Venkatanátha's Nyáyaparisuddhi. He must have therefore lived in the 14th century somewhere near Kanchi in the Madras Presidensy. His father's name was Devarájáchárya of the Bháradvája Gottra. He seems to have written commentaries on Venkatanáthá's Satadůshanî, Pádukásahasra and on some other works. In the commentary on Nyáyaparishuddhi he says that he has explained the methods of Mahavidya syllogisms in the first Chapter on Pratibandha (in the Nyáya-parishuddhi). Thus it seems that the Mahavidya syllogisms were keenly studied in Southern India in the 14th century. It is not known whether he wrote any original works.
