भावार्थ : जैसे स्थावर या जंगम विष तो खाने पर उसे खाने वाले को तत्काल मार डालता है, वैसे ही यह विषानुष्ठान भी ऐहिक भोग-इस जन्म में प्राप्त होने वाले अनुकूल खानपान आदि की आकांक्षा से करने पर शुभचित्त को खत्म कर देता है ॥४॥ दिव्यभोगाभिलाषेण कालान्तर-परिक्षयात् । स्वादृष्टफलसम्पूर्तेर्गराऽनुष्ठानमुच्यते ॥५॥
भावार्थ : दिव्य भोगों की लालसा से सदनुष्ठान करने पर वह अपने पुण्यकर्म के फल की पूर्णता को कालान्तर में क्षय कर देता है। इसलिए इस प्रकार की आकांक्षा से किया हुआ अनुष्ठान गरानुष्ठान कहलाता है ॥५॥ यथा कुद्रव्यसंयोगजनितं गरसंज्ञितम् । विषं कालान्तरे हन्ति तथेदमपि तत्त्वतः ॥६॥
भावार्थ : जैसे कु द्रव्यों के संयोग से उत्पन्न गर नामक विष कालान्तर में मारता है, इसी प्रकार यह गरानुष्ठान भी वस्तुतः कालान्तर (दूसरे आदि जन्म) में आत्मा का हनन कर देता है ॥६॥ निषेधायानयोरेव विचित्रानर्थदायिनोः । सर्वत्रैवानिदानत्वं जिनेन्द्रैः प्रतिपादितम् ॥७॥
