The citizen replied : "Oh, he is the son-in-law of (our) king." (337) Having heard that the prince ( i. e. Siripala ) became suddenly pale as if struck with an arrow and taking a turn went home (greatly). dejected. (338) Having seen him in that condition, his mother ( Kamalappaha ), who was ( greatly ) bewildered, spoke thus : "Oh, child ! does any disease in your body give you pain to-day !".
