________________ तपः श्रुतादिना मत्तः, क्रियावानपि लिप्यते। वह लिप्त होता ही रहे अति भार कर्मों का भरे॥ पर भावना श्रुत युक्त जो किरिया नहीं करता भले। वह कर्म से निर्लिप्त रहता भाव शद्धान्तस्तले॥५॥ . मला तप और श्रुत आदि से अभिमानी बना आत्मा क्रियावान होने पर भी वह लिप्त होता है। भावना ज्ञान से संपन्न आत्मा क्रियारहित A soul indulging in ascetic practices and proud of his knowledge and diligence remains deeply affected by the material world, whereas a soul, though inactive as regards ritual practices but rich in empathy, and knowledge manages to remain unaffected by the material world. {85}
