temple, and that in the same year he presented the village of Kaivanţur to the god. Pasipura, of course, is nothing but the Sanskrit name of Tiruppåbar. The village of Kaivaptur, as Dr. Hultzsch informs me, is identical with Kaivanqûr, 1 mile W.-N.-W. of Tiruppasûr.
