________________ No. 37.) BHADANA GRANT OF APARAJITA. 271 Of the localities and rivers mentioned in the inscription, Bhadana-grâma clearly is the village of Bhadanah' or 'Badana' of the maps, about nine miles east by north from Bhiwandi. Two miles north of it is the village of Padgha' or 'Padghe' or 'Padgheh,' the Padigahagrama of the grant; and east of it is a small river, the Kumbari' or 'Kombaree,' the Kumbhâri of the inscription. This river flows into the Ulhas, which, flowing generally from northeast to south-west, might fairly be called the southern boundary of Bhâdâna, and is no doubt the great river Murula of the grant. The maps do not shew anything corresponding to the ancient village of Âsachchhadi, which was on the west of Bhâdâna.-Lavaņêtata is the modern village of Lônâd, six miles south-east of Bhiwandi and half a mile north of the Ulhas river, a place where there are many ruins of ancient temples;' and Sthånaka or Sri-Sthånaks of course is the town of Thâņa. The town of Guņapura (?) and the place from which the MAhirihära vishaya was alled, I am unable to identify. TEXT.
