RAMABHADRA-DIKSHITA AND THE SOUTHERN POETS.
The subjoined passage from his Sringdratilakabhana shows that Ramabhadra-Dikshita was also the pupil of Nilakantha-Dikshita, well known for his simple, lucid style of composition and for his most popular works, Nilakanthavijaya, Keliviḍambana, Nalacharitanataka and several others.

नीलकण्ठमखिनां सदसि सकृत्प्रविष्टस्यापि समुल्लसति सरसपदसन्दर्भवैदग्धी । अस्य पुनः कवेस्तदीयशिष्यस्य विशिष्य तद्भजनानुरक्तस्य किमु वक्तव्यम् ।
His Nilakanthavijaya is dated
अष्टत्रिंशदुपस्कृतसप्तशताधिक चतुःसहस्रेषु ।
. कलिवर्षेषु गतेषु प्रथितः किल नीलकण्ठविजयोभ्यम् ॥

Nilakantha-Dikshita's Nilaleanthaviiayachampulsávya.
i. e., in the Kali year 4738, corresponding to A. D. 1638, and thus enables us to fix approximately the date of his disciple Bamabhadra-Dikshita.. It was at the instance of Nilakantha-Dikshita that our poet wrote his Ramabaṇastava.
