The Inscriptions. D ROCEEDING then to the inscriptions, I propose to record them in the order of their dates.
r As the collection is still continued, we shall have to insert later on in the series such of them as may be hereafter found to come between, according to their dates.
Puravari Inscription, 335 M. E. The earliest of the inscriptions with me which is yet to be published is one dated 335 in the Malabar era. It is found on the northern side of a mandapam in front of the old temple at Puravari-Chaturvedimangalam already referred to in another paper.13 It runs thus:
