૨૦. મંત્રીશ્વર કચદ્ર અચ્છાવત.
બીકાનેરના એ જૈન ઉપાશ્રય જોતાં ચક્ષુ સમીપ અચ્છાવત ( Bachchhavats ) વંશના ઉદય-અસ્ત તરવરે છે. રાંગરી–કા– ચાક ( Rangri-ka-ohowk ) નામના લતામાં આવેલ આ પ્રાચીન સ્થાન એક સમયે અચ્છાવત અટકથી ઓળખાતા પ્રખ્યાત જૈન વંશનું વસતીસ્થાન હતું. ઉમરાવસિંગ ટાંક B. A, LL. B. Pleader લખે છે કે—
My good guide related to me a pathetic story of the rise and fall of the Bachhavats as we went round the place. A feeling of awe and reverence came over me as he described the closing scene of the drama of the Bachchhavats' activity which was enacted some three centuries ago on the very spot where we then found ourselves stand. ing. It was a tragedy pure and simple. The Bachchhavats had doubtless a glorious rise and a still more glorious fall and every son of the Jaina mother may justly be proud of it.
