अनुवाद - तथागत - इस जगत पुनः नहीं आने वाले जन्म मरण के चक्र में नहीं फंसने वाले मेधावीप्रज्ञा सम्पन्न महान् ज्ञानी पुरुष जो मोक्षगत है, वे पुन: इस जगत में किस प्रकार आ सकते हैं ? अप्रतिज्ञनिदान वर्जित - पराफलाभिकांक्षा रहित तीर्थंकर एवं गणधर आदि महापुरुष लोक के अनुत्तर - सर्वश्रेष्ठ नेत्र हैं।

कुतः कदाचिन्मेधावी, उत्पद्यन्ते तथागताः । तथागता अप्रतिज्ञा चक्षु र्लोकस्यानुत्तराः ॥
टीका - किंचान्यत्-कर्मबीजाभावात् 'कुतः ' कस्मात्कदाचिदपि 'मेधाविनो' ज्ञानात्मका: तथाअपुनरावृत्त्या गतास्तथागताः पुनरस्मिन् संसारेऽशुचिनि गर्भाधाने समुत्पद्यन्ते ? न कथञ्चित्कदाचित्कर्मोपादानाभावादुत्पद्यन्त इत्यर्थः, तथा ‘तथागताः’ तीर्थकृद्गणधरादयो न विद्यते प्रतिज्ञा - निदानबन्धनरूपां येषां तेऽप्रतिज्ञा-अनिदाना निराशंसाः सत्त्वहितकरणोद्यता अनुत्तरज्ञानत्वादनुत्तरा 'लोकस्य' जन्तुगणस्य सदसदर्थनिरूपणकारणतश्चक्षुर्भूता हिताहितप्राप्तिपरिहारं कुर्वन्तः सकललोकलोचनभूतास्तथागताः सर्वज्ञा भवन्तीति ॥२०॥ किञ्चान्यत्
टीकार्थ - मेधावी - प्रज्ञावान पुरुष जो कर्म रूप बीज के अभाव से समस्त कर्मों को क्षीण करने के कारण मोक्षगत है। जहां जाने पर फिर कभी पुनरावृत्ति-संसार में पुनः आगमन नहीं होता, वे फिर इस अशुचिअपवित्र गर्भाधानमूलक जगत में कैसे समुतपन्न हो सकते हैं ? कर्म के उपादान के अभाव से वे फिर कभी किसी भी तरह संसार में उत्पन्न नहीं होते । प्रतिज्ञा निदानरूपी बंधन से रहित, निराशंस-आशंसा या कामना से वर्जित - प्राणियों का हित साधने में समुद्यत, अनुत्तर- सर्वश्रेष्ठ ज्ञान होने से अनुपम, प्राणियों के लिए सत् असत् अर्थ का निरूपण करने के कारण सर्वज्ञ तीर्थंकर तथा गणधर आदि महापुरुष चक्षुभूत हैं । वे सर्वज्ञ तीर्थंकर तथा महापुरुष सबको हित की प्राप्ति कराते हैं तथा अहित का परिहार करते हैं । वे सबके लिये लोचन तुल्य है ।
अणुत्तरे य ठाणे से, जं किच्चा, णिव्वुडा एगे,
छाया अनुत्तरञ्च स्थानं तत्,

कासवेण निट्टं पावंति पंडिया ॥२१॥
काश्यपेन प्रवेदितम् ।
यत् कृत्वा निर्वृता एके, निष्ठां प्राप्नुवन्ति पण्डिताः ॥
अनुवाद - काश्यपगोत्रोत्पन्न भगवान महावीर द्वारा प्रतिपादित स्थान- संयममूलक साधना पथ सर्वोत्तम
है । पंडित - ज्ञानीजन इसका परिपालन कर निर्वाण मोक्ष प्राप्त करते हैं। वे संसार का, आवागमन का अंत
करते हैं ।
टीका न विद्यते उत्तरं - प्रधानं यस्मादनुत्तरं स्थानं तच्च तत्संयमाख्यं 'काश्यपेन' काश्यप गोत्रेण श्री मन्महावीरवर्धमानस्वामिना 'प्रवेदितम्' आख्यातं, तस्य चानुत्तरत्वमाविर्भावयन्नाह - 'यद' अनुत्तरं संयमस्थानं ‘एके’ महासत्त्वाः सदनुष्ठायिन: 'कृत्वा' अनुपाल्य 'निर्वृताः' निर्वाणमनुप्राप्ताः, निर्वृताश्च सन्तः संसारचक्रवालस्य 'निष्ठां' पर्यवसानं 'पंडिता:' पापाड्डीनाः प्राप्नुवन्ति, तदेवंभूतं संयमस्थानं काश्यपेन प्रवेदितं यदनुष्ठायिनः सन्तः सिद्धिं प्राप्नुवन्तीति तात्पर्यार्थः ॥ २१ ॥

They are omniscient Tirthankaras and great men who bring about the attainment of good for all and the avoidance of harm. They are like eyes for everyone.
