अनुवाद अतीत-जो पदार्थ हो चुके हैं, प्रत्युत्पन्न - जो विद्यमान हैं तथा जो आगमिष्यत् - आने वाले हैं- भविष्य में होने वाले हैं उन सब को वे जानते हैं जिन्होंने दर्शनावरणीय कर्म का क्षय कर दिया है, जो सब जीवों के त्रायी - त्राता या रक्षक हैं तथा नायक सबके मार्गदर्शक हैं ।
आगमिस्सं च णायओ । तं ताई, दंसणावरणंत ॥१॥

यदतीतं प्रत्युत्पन्न मागमिष्यच्च नायकः । सर्वं मन्यते तत् त्रायी दर्शनावरणान्तकः ॥
टीका अस्य चानन्तर सूत्रेण संबन्धो वक्तव्यः, स चायं तद्यथा-आदेयवाक्य:, कुशलो व्यक्तोऽर्हति तथोक्तं समाधि भाषितुं, यश्च मदतीतं प्रत्युत्पन्नमागामि च सर्वमवगच्छति स एव भाषितुमर्हति नान्य इति । परम्परसूत्रसंबन्धस्तु य एवातीतानागतवर्तमानकालत्रयवेदी स एवाशेषबन्धनानां परिज्ञाता त्रोटयिता वेत्येतद्बुध्येतेत्यादिकः संबन्धऽपरसूत्रैरपि स्वबुद्धया लगनीया इति । तदेव प्रतिपादित संबन्धस्यास्य सूत्रस्य व्याख्या प्रस्तूयते यत्किमपि द्रव्यजातमतीतं यच्च प्रत्युत्पन्नं यच्चानागतम् - एष्यत्कालभावि तस्यासौ सर्वस्यापि यथावस्थितस्वरूप निरूपणतो 'नायक' प्रणेता, यथावस्थितवस्तुस्वरूपप्रणेतृत्वं च परिज्ञाने सति भवत्यतस्तदुपदिश्यते - 'सर्वम्' अतीतानागत वर्तमानकालत्रयभावतो द्रव्यादिचतुष्कस्वरूपतो द्रव्यपर्यायनिरूपण तश्च मनुते - असौ जानाति सम्यक् परिच्छिनत्ति तत्सर्वमवबुध्यते, जानानश्च विशिष्टोपदेशदानेन संसारोत्तारणतः सर्वप्राणिनां त्राय्यसौ - त्राणकरणशीलः, यदिवा'अयवयपयमयचयतयणय गता' वित्यस्य धातोर्घञ्प्रत्यः तयनं तायः स विद्यते यस्यासौ तायी, 'सर्वे गत्यर्था ज्ञानार्था' इतिकृत्वा सामान्यस्य परिच्छेदको मनुते इत्यनेन विशेषस्य, तदनेन सर्वज्ञः सर्वदर्शी चेत्युक्तं भवति, न च कारणमन्तरेण कार्यं भवतीत्यत इदमपदिश्यते-दर्शनावरणीयस्य कर्मणोऽन्तकः, मध्यग्रहणे (न) तु घातिचतुष्टयस्यान्तकृद् द्रष्टव्य इति ॥ १ ॥
टीकार्थ इस सूत्र के पहले के सूत्र के साथ संबंध व्यक्तव्य है, वह इस प्रकार है। पहले के सूत्र में कहा गया है कि जो पुरुष आदेयवाक्य है, कुशल निपुण है, व्यक्त विचारपूर्वक कार्यशील है, वहीं शास्त्रोक्त समाधी का प्रतिपालन कर सकता हैं अन्य नहीं । सूत्र के परम्परानुवर्ती संबंध के अनुसार जो पुरुष अतीत, वर्तमान एवं अनागत तीनों कालों को तद्गत पदार्थों का वेत्ता है, वही समस्त बंधनों का परिज्ञाता अथवा त्रोटयतातोडने वाला है, ऐसा जानना चाहिये । इस प्रकार अन्य सूत्रों के साथ भी स्वबुद्धि द्वारा संबंध जोड़ लेना चाहिये। जिस सूत्र का संबन्ध प्रतिपादित किया जा चुका है । उसकी व्याख्या प्रस्तुत की जाती है। जो पदार्थ अतीत में हो चुके हैं जो वर्तमान में हैं तथा भविष्य में होंगे उनके यथावस्थित स्वरूप का निरूपण - विवेचन करने के कारण वह पुरुष नायक - प्रणेता है। परिज्ञान होने पर ही वस्तु के यथावत् स्वरूप का प्रणेतृत्व हो सकता है । अतः सूत्रकार उपदिष्ट करते हैं कि वह पुरुष भूत, भविष्य तथा वर्तमान तीनों कालों के पदार्थों को द्रव्यादिद्रव्य, क्षेत्र, काल, भाव की अपेक्षा से तथा द्रव्यार्थिक एवं पर्यायार्थिक नय की दृष्टि से जानता है, भली भांति पहचानता है, अवबोधित करता है। यों जानता हुआ वह विशिष्ट उपदेश प्रदान कर समस्त प्राणियों को संसार
