Born On May 19, 1912. Son of Lt-Col. His Highness Maharaja Shri Sir Bhavsinhji Takhtsinhji, K. C. S. I of Bhavnagar.
Married in April, 1931 To Maharani Shri Vijayaba, daughter of His Highness Maharaja Shri Bhojrajji of Gondal, has two sons and three daughters.
Education At home under Major Lentairgne and A.P Pattani; joined the Rajkumar College, Rajkot, 1922; proceeded to England for further studies in 1925 and joined the Rev. Brayer's School in Essex and then was admitted to Harrow, returned from England in 1928 & attended lectures in History, Politics, English etc., at the Samaldas College, Bhavnagar.
