In him, Gujarat has lost a brilliant writer and Ahmedabad a benevolent citizen.
He is survived by his wife Smt. Jayaben, an illustrious lady, and the only son, Prof. Kumarpal Desai who has stepped in the footsteps of his father, as a writer.
He has a large number of fri- ends and admirers throughout Gujarat. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

All of us were shocked and considerably distressed to read local press reports about the very and sudden demise of your dear and revered father Shri Balabhai Desai alias Jaybhikhkhu. I don't know how to express our feelings.
In the passing away of shri Jaybhikhkhu, Gusarat and Gujarati literature have lost one of our talente 1, versatile and able writers. Yous father wielded the pen skilfully and artistically and he was able to bring the message of good and meaningfull life to each and every person, who read his writings. Very few have the capacity to be both scholars and intelligible. Your
Jaybhikhkhu' as we all know him was a great writer, thinker and almost a philosopher and many a young boys have started taking interest in religion by reading his works for children. By religion we do not mean only by going to temples and perform puja, but to practise it in the right sense of the term. It was this reasɔn which had tempted us to participate actively in felicitations of that function
