छन्दोदर्शनम्
पदपाठः सर॑स्व॒त्यः । यः। अ॒मृता॑ः । आपः । दिव्याः । पावमा॑न्यः ।

ताभिः। अत्ऽभिः । इमे । गव्याः । साकम् । पुनन्तु॑ । माम् । रसः ॥
May these essences of the cows purify me with the waters which are full of essences, which are like nectar as well as heavenly and purificatory.

याः आपः सरस्वत्यः रसवत्यः दिव्याः अम्बुसङ्घातरूपाः वृष्टेः पूर्वं मेघरूपेण दिवि अन्तर्हिताः अमृता: अमृतात्मसधर्मिण्यः पावमान्य: दोष - पापादिपावनसत्त्वाः तथा तत्रापि कुशैः सह सम्मिलिताः सत्यः पावनसत्त्वशालिन्यो भवन्ति विशेषतः, एकविंशत्या दर्भपिञ्जलैः पावयन्ति " ( ऐ. ब्रा.) इति ब्राह्मणम्, ताभि: कुशसहिताभिः अद्भिः साकं कुशोदकैः सह इति यावत्, इमे गव्याः गोमूत्रादयः पञ्च गोरसाः मां पुनन्तु इति ||
अनया ऋचा ऋषिः कुशोदकमभिमन्त्रयते, तथा मेलयति च पञ्चगव्येन सह दिव्यसत्त्वभावोदयार्थम् ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
The waters are full of essences. They are a collection of hidden waters in the sky in the form of clouds before raining. They are as good as Ambrosia. They are capable of curing and purifying us from all errors, sins etc. Especially when they are united with Kuśa grass, they get the power of purification. Cf. "With a bundle of twenty-one pieces of darbha or Kusa grass ( the waters ) purify ” says the Brahmana. With those waters combined with Kusa, may these essences of cows, viz., cow-urine etc. purify me.
With this mantra, the Rshi consecrates the waters with Kuśa and mixes the same with Pañcha Gavya to invest it with divine qualities.

अ॒द्भ्यो भूर्भुवः॑ स्व॒ः स्वाहा॑ जु॒होम्य॒ग्नौ रसा॒न् गव्या॑न् ॥ ८ ॥
पदपाठः- गोभ्य॑ः । सर॑स्वत्यै । श्रिये । सोमा॑य । इन्द्राय । सवित्रे ।

To the cows, Sarasvati, Śri, Soma, Indra, Savita and the waters, I offer cows' products as oblations saying Bhūh, Bhuvah, and Svah.
