छन्दोदर्शनम्
आत्मनः । चित्रम् । इदम् । प्र । असारयत् । इन्द्रः । विश्वेषाम् । पतिः। सः। मध्यमः ।।
In the beginning, for the manifestation of this universe, he ( Indra) roaring with his intense meditation (tapas) here and everywhere constantly expanded himself in the form of this wonderful universe. He is Indra, of the mid-world, overlord of all.
अन्वयभाष्यम। ___ य: प्रसिद्धः परः असौ दिव्यः पुरुषः पुरस्तात् प्राक् सृष्टेः जगतां सर्वेषां प्राणिनां भूतानां च जनेः प्रादुर्भावार्थं इह ब्रह्माण्डे अभितः सर्वतः तपसा निर्विययात्मकेन केवलेन विमर्शन नित्यं निरन्तरं सर्वदैव अविच्छेदेन च प्ररुदन् प्रकर्षण स्वरन्- ज्ञानमय्या शब्दब्रह्मरूपया स्ववाचकात्मिकया परया शक्त्या वाचा सह शब्दायमानः सन्- आत्मनः सकाशात् स्वतः एव चेतनात् इदं-दृश्यं चित्रं आत्मप्रतीकरूपं विश्वं प्रासारयत् विस्तारयामास, सः मध्यमः इन्द्रः विश्वेषां अधिपतिरिति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION In the beginning, he, the well-known and the supreme one, in order to create these worlds and all the beings, practised here in this universe, and everywhere, tapas, pure meditation. It was constant and unintermittent. All the while, he, roaring with his supreme power of speech, which is Brahma in the form of sound, expanded from himself this universe which is but a symbol of his. He is Indra of the mid-world, the overlord of all.
चतुर्थी ऋक् । यो दिव्यो है जनयन् त्समपः सञ्ज्योतग़त्माऽर्नु जीवसे पुरा नः ॥ यश्चान्तः पृथिव्यां प्रत समूह
इन्द्रो विश्वेषां पतिः स मध्यमः ॥४॥ पदपाठ :- यः । दिव्यः । ह । जनय॑न् । सम् । अपः। सन् ।
