छन्दोदर्शनम
Oh Brahmanaspati! you are the supreme Brahma, the Truth. Vak who is your consort is all-pervading and is the manifest Brahma. That Purusha (Brahmanaspati) manifested Himself in all forms through Vāk. Vāk indeed is the equal and soul of Purusha.
अन्वयभाष्यम्। हे ब्रह्मणस्पते ! त्वं तत् परोक्षसिद्धं सत्यं सत्यात्मकं परमं पूर्ण ब्रह्मैव असि, सा तव सती वाचकशक्तिरूपा वाक् परानाम्नी बृहती अखण्डा नामरूपादिभिः सर्वैरपि गुणैः व्यापका प्रत्यक्षं ब्रह्म साक्षाद् ब्रह्मात्मिका, तया वाचा वाङ्मुखेन सः परमः पुरुषः विश्वथा विश्वतोरूपेण अभ्युदगात् प्राकाश्यं इयाय, तस्मात् सा वाक् प्रत्यक्षसिद्धा तेन पुरुषेण परमेण आत्मना समाना सती तस्य हृदा हृदयेन युक्ता हृदयात्मिका च सम्पन्ना आत्मा शरीरं तदर्धाइगात्मिका तदन्तरात्मैव भवसीति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION Oh Brahmaṇaspati ! you are that invisible Truth, the supreme and perfect Brahma. She is your consort as the power of expression. She is Våk by name, she pervades everywhere and is manifest Brahma. Through her, the Supreme Purusha assumed omnifarious forms and became manifest. Våk is evidently manifest and is equal to Him. She is His body and soul also.
पञ्चमी ऋक् । सरस्वति त्वं प्रत्यक्षं ब्रह्म सती प्रति बोधयसि ब्रह्म सत्यं परम् ॥ ब्रह्मणा वाग् विश्वाऽभ्युदंगात् परा
पुरुषः सन् स समानो वाच आत्मा ॥५॥ पदपाठ :- सरस्वति । त्वम् । प्रत्यक्षम् । ब्रह्म । सती।
प्रति । बोधयसि । ब्रह्म । सत्यम् । परम् ॥ ब्रह्मणा । वाक् । विश्वऽथा । आभि । उत् । अगात् । परी । पुरुषः । सन् । सः । समानः । वाचः। आत्मा ।।
Oh Sarasvati ! you are the manifest Brahma and are able to show the path to attain the unmanifest, great Brahma, the Truth. Being inspired by Brahma, Vāk or the power of speech assumed the form of the manifest universe. The Purusha himself is, as it were, Vak and the soul of all.
