छन्दोदर्शनम
अनुवक्षि वाङ्मुखेन अनुवदसि, तस्मात् सा वागेव गन्धाघ्राणने तदनुवादविषये च नासायाः मिथुनं युगलीभूतम् , तच्च विदा ज्ञानशक्तियोगेन सिद्धं अध्यात्मकं प्राचीनं करणमिति | एतेन वाङ्-नासिकयो: मिथुनत्वं समर्थ्यते॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
Oh Venerable one, you are yourself the essential taste of things. You are one with Soma, i.e., the moon who is full of celestial essences. You are one with Surya, the sun, the lord of all light. With the help of the Asvin gods, who are Soma and Sūrya, and with the help of the mind, you enter the nose in the form of various odours. So, whatever the nose smells, you can express in words. Väk, who is one with the nose in the act of smelling has been from the beginning inseparably associated with the nostrils.
षष्ठी ऋक् । सरस्वती त्वं चोदयन्ती धियं स्वां विश्वा धियोऽन्वेषि चेतसा सवित्रा ॥ प्रशात तदनु वक्षि सर्व धीभि
र्वाग् विदा मिथुनं धियां संविदा पूर्व्यम् ॥ ६ ॥ पदपाठ :- सरस्वती । त्वम् । चोदयन्ती। धियम् । स्वाम् ।
विश्वाः । धियः । अनुऽएर्षि । चेतसा । सवित्रा ।। प्रऽज्ञातम् । तत् । अनु । वक्षि । सर्वम् । धीभिः । वाक् । विदा । मिथुनं । धियां । सम्ऽविर्ताम् । पूर्व्यम् ।।
Oh Sarasvati! you inspire your own intellect, i.e., the universal intellect. With the help of the mind and the sun-like light of knowledge you enter the intellects of all. You express in words whatever is known to all intellectual minds. Våk is indeed one with the intellects and consciousness of all. This union has been there from of old.
अन्वयभाष्यम् । हे भगवति! त्वं सरस्वती स्वयं प्रज्ञानादिरससत्त्वा सती स्वां स्वसम्बन्धिनी धियं प्रज्ञां सर्वेषामन्तरात्मनि चोदयन्ती प्रेरयन्ती च सती चेतसा सचेतनेन मनसा च सह सवित्रा दिव्येन ज्योतिरात्मना च साकं विश्वाः धियः सर्वाणि धीन्द्रियाणि अन्वेषि व्याप्नोषि, अत एव सर्वासु धीषु वागेकैव अनुस्यूतेति सम्पद्यते, तेन च ताभिरेव धीभिः प्रज्ञातं ज्ञानरूपेण
