Parinamavada in the Agamas
of substance, it is infinite in number, from that of 'khetta ' ( ksetra ) it is co-terminous with the Logāgasa, from that of time it is eternal and from that of 'bhava' it is possessed of taste, smell etc. It has five colours, five tastes, four kinds of odour and eight kinds of touch. 1 A paramānupoggala, however, possesses only one colour, one taste, one smell, and two kinds of touch 19 The different kinds of transformation of poggala are stated to be - sound, darkness, lustre (of jewels), light, shade, sunshine, colour, taste, smell, and touch.20 To these may be added its other Pariņāmas such as bandhanaparināma, gatiparināna, bheda-parinama and agurulahuya-parināma 2 1 which are classed under the general heading of 'ajivaparināmas' in the Pannavanā (ch. 13 ) and the Bh. Su 14.4.22 Like the Jiva, Poggala also is eternal from the standpoint
