66 ] RĀJAPRAŚNIYA SUTRA excellent, and brisk gait of the gods, they went toward the Milky ocean, took the water of the Milky Ocean along with such lotuses, and sahasrapatras as were available there, and then went to the Puşkarodaka ocean, and took the water of that ocean along with such varieties of lotuses as were available there; then they went to the Samaya Kşetra, towards the Bhārata and Airavata Varşas, towards the sacred places like Māgadha, Varadaman, and Prabhāsa, and took the water and earth (or clay) from those sacred places; then they went to the great rivers like the Ganges, the Indus, the Raktāraktayati etc., and took the water of these rivers and the earth from both the banks (of these rivers); then they went towards the Kșudra Himayat and towards the Varşadhara mountain, took the water from them, as well as all the (types of) Tuvara (corn), all (types of)-flowers, scents, garlands, herbs, and white mustards; then they went towards the Padma and Pundarika lakes, took water from the lakes as well as all the varieties of lotuses available there; then they went towards the Haimavata and Airāvata Varsas, towards the great rivers like Rohitā, Rohitāmśā, Suvarnakūlā, Rūpyakūla etc., took water from those rivers, as well as the earth from both the banks; then they went towards the series the Śabdāpāti, and Vikatāpāti mountains, as well as the Uttara Vaitādhya mountains,...and took all types of Tuvara (corn etc.). Then they went toward the Mahá Himayat, Rukmi and Varsadhara mountains (Page 208 ]... etc; then they went toward the lakes Mahāpadma and Mahāpundarika, took water from those lakes...as before; then they went toward the Hariyarşa and the Ramyakayarsa, toward the Harikāntā and Närikāntā rivers...... as before...
