અધ્યાત્મતત્ત્વાલાક.
લાભનુ અનર્થ કારિત્વ—
લાભાર્ત્ત માણસ શુ કષ્ટ-કાર્યાં કરતો નથી ?, લાભથી હાયલા માણસ શું કર્મ આચરતા નથી ?, લેભરૂપ છરીથી હણાઇ ગઇ છે આંખ ( અન્તર્દષ્ટિ ) જેતી એવા માણસ ખરેખર પેાતાના માતા-પિતા અને ખાંધવાને પણ અનર્થના ખાડામાં ઉતારતાં અચકાતા નથી.”—{

'लोभपरवशीभूतान् परिदेवयते -
संकेश्य ये निष्करुणं प्रजातो धनं गृहीत्वा पुपुषुः स्वकोशम् । भयङ्करं भूरि विधाय युद्धं प्रादर्शि यैश्व प्रलयावभासः ॥ ७० ॥ लोभादितास्तेऽपि हि मृत्युकाले न किञ्चिदादातुमलंबभूवुः । एकाकिनो रङ्कमुखाः प्रयाता - स्तस्मात् किमर्थं विदधीत लोभम् ॥ ७१ ॥ સુખમ્ |
Those who tormented the people mercilessly and filled their storehouses with wealth they seized, those who repeatedly fought in terrible battles and created the terrible scene of ( universal) destruction, and even who were pinched by greed, were not able to take anything at the time of death. They were forced to go alone with their humiliated faces; therefore why should greed be entertained ? ( 70-71 )

લાભપરાધીન થયેલાઓ ઉપર દયાભાવ—
જેએએ નિ યરીતે પ્રજાને દુ:ખી કરી તેની પાસેથી ધન કઢાવી પોતાના ભંડારને પુષ્ટ કર્યાં અને અનેક ભયંકર યુદ્દો કરી પ્રલયકાળના જેવા દેખાવ બતાવ્યા, તેવા લાભાત્ત ભૂપાલેા (!) પણ મરણ વખતે પેાતાની સમ્પત્તિમાંથી કઇ પણ સાથે લઇ જવાને સમર્થ ન થયા, અને એકલા ગરીબડા માઢે કંગાલની જેમ અહીંથી ઉપડી ગયા. જ્યારે આમ હકીકત છે, તેા પછી શા કારણે લેાભાસક્ત થવું ?, ”—૭૦-૭૧
