________________ પ્રકરણ, ] SPIRITUAL LIGHT. of falsehood. The proper appreciation of truth necessitates the rigid training of the mind for it. A mind, untrained and unprepared for it, pollutes it. It is well remarked: "He who pours water into the muddy well, does but disturb the mud. "" મૃષાવાદ ખેલતાં સિદ્ધિ તરફ દષ્ટિપાત— “ જે ફળ ઉપર નજર રાખી અસત્ય ખેલવામાં આવે છે, તે ફૂલ અને મૃષાવાદજન્ય અપરાધમાં ( પાપમાં ) ફરક કેટલા છે ? તે બુદ્ધિથી વિચારવું જોઇએ. બુદ્ધિ તુલા ( ત્રાનુડી ) સમાન છે અને દરેક કાર્યોંમાં તે બુદ્ધિરૂપ તુલાથી તાલ કરવા, એ બુદ્ધિમાનાનું કર્ત્તવ્ય છે.”-૧૯ धनोपार्जनेऽपि मृषावादोऽनुपयोगी धनार्जनं न्यायपथेन सम्यगुद्योगतोऽशक्यतया क आह ? | आरम्भतो धीरतया तु सह्या आपद्यमानाः प्रतिकूलयोगाः ॥२०॥ Who says that wealth cannot be obtained in trades justly and honourably conducted? A man should bear with patience the obstacles which beset his path in the beginning. ( 20 ) Notes: It is a popular belief that deception, fraud, misrepresentation and tricks are necessary for achieving success in commercial purposes, but this kind of belief is wholly unfounded on rational basis. One though by such means gains success for the time being but he eventually becomes ruined. While, on the contrary one who rigidly follows the path of honesty and righteousness in the path of trade, is, in the end, sure to be blessed with eminent success and becomes able to amass a large fortune though, 359
