We feel much satisfaction aud pride repeat tbat we find in you, only a representative of the Jain Religion at the Parliament of Religions, held at Chicago, but at the same time we find in you a most energetic and competent advocate of the cause of Indian Pbilosopby: Disregarding the unavoidable incoaveniences, which present themselves to an Orthodox Hindu travollar scru. pulously following the prescriptions of religion, while prosecuting noble work, which you have so cheerfully undertaken, you visited different parts of America and preached in lotty tones from public and private pulpits the religion and Philosophical tenets of Hinduism; and we are extremely glad to endorse the opinion of the American public and press, that you have succeeded all with all the moral triumph of a conscientious preacher, in awakening American interest and symputbies for the religion and philosophy of India which has beun gloricusly hailed by the foreigners from times immemorial, as the mother of Religions and the Cradle of Civilizi tion. This, in itself is a sign, prophesying good for the orient and the Occident.

But your mission did not end here, you next con. centrated all your energies in a pitched battle against the grant of darkuess assuming various forms and specially against lock of education amoúg the wmen of this country, which is one of the saddest and most deplorable condition of Indian society, we are much pleased to hear, has sent three of our Fliidu sister's to America, with the offer to maintain and educate them, for three -years at the expense of the socioty, so that they may be enabled to practicallý study bow to become proper
