PREFACE. In this edition of the Taittiriya-Samhitá, the original is given in Samhitá and Pada texts along with Bhattabháskara's commentary. But the pada text of the 1st praśna of the káņda I. is given separately at the end of the praśna, as the insertion of the pada-pátha in this edition was only the outcome of an afterthought. In the pada-pátha, the text of each section (Anuváka) is marked off into sub-sections to facilitate reference to the commentary.

Library at Tanjore. To this volume is appended an edition of Káņďánukramaní, prepared from a MS. copy of the text and commentary belonging to the Government Oriental Library. Dr. Weber's edition of the same has also been consulted.
