History
The importance of history lies in the fact that it opens up the vista of past happenings for us. Many great civilizations blossomed and withered in the past leaving the trail of their greatness. It is history which gives us a clue of their greatness and grandeur. It is again history which enlightins us of the different stages of development of the human race. Mankind has taken rapid steps to reach at the present level. In remotest ancient times man lived in a foodgathering stage. Gradually he discovered some meatles such as copper and zinc which enabled him to leave aside his dependence on stone implements. Later the discovery of iron brought a revolution in man's life and opened up multifarious avenues of progress and development. The historical account provides knowledge about various stages through which the early manpassed. Various wars and conflicts had taken place in the past but fortunately we have the record of most of them with us. These records link the present with the past and provides solid base for future.
