Complete. This commentary is attributed to Vidyaranya, but it does not agree with Sayana's commentary on this portion of the Krsnayajurvēda as found in the IV Kānda thereof. Moreover it does not begin with the Margalaślāka found in all the Vedic commentaries of Sāyaṇa. The work described in the next number is attributed to Vidyātīrtha, and appears to be an abridgment of this commentary. Therefore, this may be the commentary by Vidyātīrtha, who is known to have been a Guru of the wellknown Vidyaranya. Beginning : ___ अतः परमग्निकाण्डमग्न्यायमग्निचयने चरमायामिष्टकायां शतरुद्रीयं जुहुयादिति । नमसे रुद्र मन्यव इति । रुद्रो वा एष यदग्निस्तस्यैते तनुवावित्यादि अस्य रुद्रसमुदायस्य अग्निः काण्डषिः । महाविराट् छन्दः । शम्भुर्देवता । अथ जाबालोपनिषदि-अथैनं ब्रह्मचारिण ऊचुः किं जप्यनामृतत्वं ब्रूहीति । स होवाच याज्ञवल्क्यः शतरुद्रीयेणेति ॥ एतानि ह वा अमृतस्य नामधेयानि एहि वा अमृतो भवतीति शातातपः ॥
सेयं कृत्वा गुरुदारांच हत्वा मद्यं पीत्वा ब्रह्महत्यां च कृत्वा । भस्मच्छन्नो भस्मशय्याशयानो रुद्राध्यायी मुच्यते सर्वपापैः ॥ इति । रुद्रजापी भवेच्छ्रीमान् रुद्रजापी विकल्मषः । अरोगी रुद्रजापी स्यात् ज्ञानान्मुक्तो भवेत्ततः ॥ यस्मिन् देशे स्थितो रुद्रपुरश्चरणकन्नरः । तत्र दुर्भिक्षकलहौ न भवेतां कदाचन ॥ इति । नित्यमेकं समस्तं च त्रिरेकादश वा जपेत् । मुच्यते सर्वपापेभ्यः तुल्य एको जपो जपः ॥ इति ॥
