आगः । कृधी स्वस्मा अदितेरनागा व्यना सि शिश्रथो विष्वगग्ने । यथाह तद्वसवो गौर्यश्चित्पदि पिताम मुञ्चता यजत्राः । एवात्वमस्मत्प्रमुञ्चा व्य हः प्रातार्यने प्रतरान्न आयुः ॥ 39 ॥
गन्ता दूषयन्त्स्तौमि ययोश्शोऽनुमतिरनुचन चतुस्त्रि ५ शञ्च । . . . . अनाविष्णू प्रतरान्न आयुः ॥ हरिः ओम् ॥ चतुर्थोऽष्टकः समाप्तः ॥

The word बन्धः is omitted after समुद्रः in the final passage quoted below. The omission is the outcome of a practice prevalent among teachers of the Vēda (Adhyāpakas) not to let the pupil have the last word (i.e., not formally to finish the teacbing) until the teacher is duly rewarded.
