सुहृद्भिराप्तैरसकृद् विचारितं स्वयं च वुध्या पूविचारिताश्रयम् । करोति कार्य खलु यः स बुद्धिमान
स एव लक्षम्या यशसां च भाजनम् ॥ पढे लिखे नेक दोस्तों के साथ अथवा अपनी बुद्धि से सोच कर जो शीन काम करता है यह अकलमंद होता है उसको हि दौलत और नामवरी मिलती है
Surely he is wise who at once does a work which is well thought of by learned friends and thoroughly considered by one's own intellect, and who alone well deserves wealth and fame.
वलीयसा हीनबलो विरोध न भूतिकामो मनसापि वांछेत् । न वध्यते ऽत्यन्तवलो हि यस्मात्
व्यक्तं पूणाशो ऽस्ति पतंगवृत्तेः॥ कमजोर आदमी अपनी भलाई चाहने वाला जोरावर से झगडे का विचार न करे क्यों कि वह रुकता नहि इस लिये नाश जाहिर है जैसे दीपक में भिनगे का
A weak man desirous of prosperity should never even in mind think of a quarrel withi a powerful man; for, the powerful is not suppressed ; so his ruin is certain like that of a mosquito (before a lamp).
काके शौचं द्यूतकारे च सत्यं क्लीवे धैर्य मद्यपे तत्त्वचिन्ता।
