The present manuscript is described in L. IV. 1598. Another MS has been described in IO. IV. 2551 (I). Three editions of the work in 16 Patalas, as edited by Rasik Mohan Chatterji, were published (Calcutta, 1879, 1891, 1931).
The work is in the form of an interlocution between Unmatta-Bhairava and Unmatta-Bhairavi. The cult of Bhutaḍāmara has been dealt with by Dr. B. Bhattacharya in Man in India (Vol. XI, pp. 83ff.).

The present MS contains the first 15 Paṭalas and the beginning of the 16th.
The 16th Patala begins thus :
30B, अथातः संप्रवच्यामि योगिनीसाधनोत्तमम् ।
सर्व्वदा सर्व्वकामार्थं देहिनां सर्व्वसिद्धिदम् ॥
It will be noticed that the first verse of the 16th chapter, as found in Chatterji's edition of the work, is absent here and in 5856 infra.
