Though called Atharvatattvanirupaṇa in the colophon the work is introduced as an Upanisad in the opening line ( अथान्योपनिषत् ). It deals principally with the worship of maidens (kumārīpūjā).

ॐ नमः कमलारण्यविहारिण्यै । अथान्योपनिषत् ।
तया विन्तेष्टितं विश्वं विचिन्तयेत् । शब्दमात्रेण तां भावयेत् । पूजनात् सर्व्वसिद्धीश्वरो भवेत् । अणिमादिविभूतीनामीश्वरो
भवेत् ।
यताहारौ भवेत् | सर्व्वदा निर्व्विकल्पमनसा जयं चरेत् । नान्यः पन्था विद्यते अयनाय मोक्षाय च्यानन्दाय धर्म्माय जानाय इति सकृत् पाठात् सर्व्वसिद्धिमवाप्नोति । भक्तियुक्ताय दातव्यमिति ।
