This is in the form of an interlocution between Vişnu and Siva. Vişņu asks various questions about the real nature of deities and rites. Siva gives them a spiritual interpretation and lays stress on true knowledge.

नमः शिवाय गुरुभ्यो नमः | हरिहरसंवाद | कैलासशिखरासीनं देवदेवं जगद्गुरुं ।
प्रणम्य तं महादेवं स्मृष्टिहेतुं महेश्वरम् ॥
