The work deals with the daily duties of the twiceborn and, strictly speaking, belongs to the Smrti class of literature. Of Tantrika topics dealt with herein mention may be made of bhutaśuddhi, dikṣā and puraścarana of the Gayatrimantra.

The present manuscript is noticed in L. II. 885. CS. III. 508 describes a work, in sūtra form, of the same name and similar contents.
This MS seems to be a part of a much larger one, because the first leaf of this has, on the right upper-hand corner, the number 246 and the last leaf has, at the same place, the number 283.
