The Ms. contains the Institutes of Manu (Manusainhitā), the most ancient and important of the 20 twenty Snıšiti Sarhitās describing the Hindu religious codes in simple Sanskrit verges. The work has been very often published and translated into English, Bengali and many other modern * languages. The present Ms. contains from the very beginning to the end the whole work in 12 twelve chapters with colophong. See L, 1165 and H. P. Sastri, Vol. III, 1851.

स्वयंभुवे नमस्कृत्य ब्रह्मणेऽमिततेजसे । मनुप्रणीतान् विविधान् धर्मान् वक्ष्यामि शाश्वतान् ॥१॥ मनुमेकाग्रमासीनमभिगम्य महर्षयः । प्रतिपूज्य यथान्यायमिदं वचनमब्रुवन् ॥२॥
End:
इत्येवं मानवं शास्त्रं भृगुप्रोक्तं पठन् द्विजः । भवत्याचारवान्नित्यं यथेष्टां प्राप्नुयाद् गतिम् ॥२७॥
