2. HARADATTA The next commentary in chronological order on the Afval. - yanagphys is probably by Haradatta. Haradatte has commented upon the Asvaldyadagshya (No. 11757;, the Apastambagshya and Dharmasútras, the Apastam bamsntra pātha etc. He belongs to the Madras Presidency and lived in the 19th century A. D.
3. NĀRĀYANA.
Nārāyana of Naidhruva Kāśyapagotra and son of Divákaradvivedårya is a voluminous writer on the Kalpasūtras. Nārāyaņe seems to have commented on many of the available Srauta and Gșhyasūtras. To mention only a few, the Asvalaya naśrauta and Gshya, the Apastamba Srauta etc. Nårāyaṇa seems to have been A comparatively ancient writer,
4. ANANDARAYA MANHIN. Anandarāyamakbin, the famous minister of Tanjore is the author of a commentary on the Asvalāyanagshya (No. 11783.) Particulars regarding Anandarāya have been furnished already in the introduction to previous volumes.
Among the other works based on the Aśvalāyanagfhya, mention should be made of the Asvalāvanagshyakārikā of Sūkalācārya, tw.) copies of which are described under Nos. 11706 & 11989, One other Gphyasūtra of the Rg Veda is described in this volume and that is the Sāókbāyanagshya (No. 11767). It is generally known that Sankhāyana is only another name for the Kauşītaka. The Sãokhăyanagshyasūtra is thus otherwise known as Kaugitaka gshya, but it is worthy of note to see that there is a Kauşitaka Gphy& different from the Sankhā "anagļhya. The other work that is referred to is the saina as Sáin bhavyaghyasūtra, copies of which are rare.
ĀPASTAMBA. By far the post popular and widely known Kalpa is that of Apastamba, who is regarded as a southerier by scholars like Büler etc. The only commentary on this Gphyasūtra of Apagtamba preserved in this library is that of Gårgyagopålayajvan on the Pitpmedha portion (No. 11178-5).
