Vippupurána is commented apon by Ratnagarbhabbattācārya (Nos. 9675-79) the com nentator on Bhārata. Sūtasambitá (No. 10191) from the Skandapurana is generally beleived to be an important work on Saiva cult and it has a commentary by Mádbavācārya son of Caunda pärya (No. 10211-18), Käbikhands of Skåndapurana (Nos. 10800-22) is also an important portion which has also a commentary by Råmddanda (No. 10828). It is also translated into Telugu by a great poet called Srinatha, In this section 3 important works which have a bearing on historical facts have to be mentioned. The first is Vizpuparana containing the dynasties of Kings which have become almost parts of Indian history. The other two are: | Hälisyamābātmya (No. 10260) 2 Brhadišvaramāhātinya (, 10050) The first of these throws much light on the History of the Påndyas of Madura and the latter on that of the Colas of Tanjore. As regards the Māhātmyas some of them find a place under more than one Purāņa The reader's attention is drawn to the index at the end of the Volumel. VI. UPAPURĀNAS (Nob. 10548–10008) Tradition has it that these also are of the same number as the Mahăpurápas. “Padmaparāņa in Patálakhapda enumerates thom as eighteen." gūtasambită while generally corroborating the number names 20 of them as follows: 1 Sanatkamārupurána 1 Lalitopakhyana No. 10511 is a very important work of the Sakti cult.
