This Mantra, which praises Rudra under different significant names, is held to have the power to secure protection to one, to cause annoyance to one's enemies in various ways, to drive off evil spirits, and to counteract the effects of hostile Mantras, etc. Beginning:

ओं नमः पशुपतये नानाभूताधिपतये ओं नमो रुद्राय ल ल ल ल ल ल ल खडरावणबलिं विहर नृत्य नृत्य श्मशानभस्मार्चितशरीराय उग्रतेजोमयाय. End:
विध्वंस विध्वंस प्रवेशय प्रवेशय आवेशय आवेशय पूर्वप्रतिष्ठानां साधु शोषाय परविद्याच्छेदनाय हा ह्रीं हुं फट् शिवाय इति उच्चाटनम् ॥
