This Mantra consisting of 8 syllables is addressed to the Sungod; and its repetition is considered to be efficacious in the curing of various kinds of diseases, in the accomplishment of one's desires and in the attainment of salvation.
Beginning: ___पूर्वोक्तएवंगुणविशेषणविशिष्टायां शुभतिथौ मम सकलपापक्षयार्थभैकाहिकव्याहिकव्याहिकचातुराहकादिसकलरोगशान्त्यर्थ समस्तमङ्गलावाप्त्यर्थ सावित्राष्टाक्षरीमन्त्रजपं करिष्ये-अस्य श्रीसावित्राष्टाक्षरीमन्त्रस्य भार्गव ऋषिः, गायत्री छन्दः, आदित्यो देवता; कं बीजं, यं शक्तिः, दं कीलकं, मम इष्टार्थसिद्ध्यर्थे जपे विनियोगः । End: ओं श्रीं ह्रीं क्लीं घृणिस्सूर्य आदित्यों ।
शुद्धात्मा रविजश्श्रीमान् तस्माद्रोगाद्विमुक्तवान् । अष्टाविंशतिकुष्ठानि महारोगाणि यानि च ॥ अशीतिवातरोगाश्च प्रणश्यन्ति न संशयः । कुर्वन्नेवंप्रकारेण भुक्तिं मुक्तिं च विन्दति ॥
