This Mantra consists of the Mahivyahrtis भूः, भुवः, सुवः, and their combination, these being generally repeated with the Praņava. Its repetition is intended to propitiate Visņu. Beginning:
अथ व्याहृतिमन्त्रः
ओं भूः ओं भुवः ओं सुवः ओं भूर्भुवस्सुवः इति प्राणामामः १२.
अस्य श्रीव्याहृतिमन्त्रस्य प्रजापतिः ऋषिः, गायत्री छन्दः, परमास्मा श्रीहरिदेवता ; श्रीहारप्रेरणया श्रीहरिप्रीत्यर्थे जपे विनियोगः ।
End:
_यथाशक्ति नियमेन व्याहृतिमन्त्रजपङ्करिष्ये--ओं भूः ओं भुवः ओं सुवः ओं भूर्भवस्सुवः --इति जपः । उपसंहारः पूर्ववत् ॥

This Mantra is addressed to Krsna concoived as the cowherd, who, while lying in the cradle playfully, killed with a kick a certain Asura or demon, who, under the orders of Kamsa, assumed the form of a cart with a view to crush to death under its wheels the child Krsna.
