शास्त्रदीपिकामयूखावल्यां प्रथमाध्यायस्य द्वितीयः पादः॥
Subject : Sastradīpikávyakhyā otherwise known as Mayū.
khavali I. 2 to 8. Remarks :--'The Ms. is in a decaying condition.
This commentary, Mayūkhávali on the Sastradīpikā, is by the famous Appayyadškoita and comments only from the second pada of the first Adhyâya.
Dr. Burnell has described this Ms. wrongly as a copy of Somanātha's commentary.
This great polymath whose date is traditionally fixed between 1556 & 1628 A. D. [See Mr. Y. Mahälingaśāstri, in the Journal of Oriental Research, Madras Vol. III.] has written works in many branches of knowledge. This work is a com. mentary on Bästradipikā.
His other Mimämsi works are the Upaksamaperäkrama, dealing with the comparative strenth off the beginning and the end, and Vidhirasiyana, a disquisition on the naturaot injunction. It is said that his contemporaries Gopāla and Sankara Bhatta :criticised Appayyadikqita's Vidbirasāyana
