son of Mallinātha. The commentary inay therefore be definitely dated in some period prior to the 15th century A. D.
2. Kávyaprakāśadarśa --by Mahesvara Nyāyālaskāra.
The author was a native of Bengal and he seems to bave commented upon the Diyabhāga also. Tuis commentatar is referred to by Vaidyanātha and hence he is older than the 17th century.
8. Pradipa of Govindathakkura
Govinda was the eldest son of Sonodevi and Keśava. He had an younger brother by name Sri Harga also. This Srl Hargs, it may be noted, is different from the author of the Nainadhacarita. Govinda studied under bis itep-brother Ruci. kara and should bave lived prior to 1563 A. D. for the Rasa. pradlpa composed by Prabhākara in the latter year refers to him.
4. Sampradāyaprakáßins of Vidyacakrvartin bas in addition to this, composed a commentary on luyyaka's Alankara
sarvasva.
NĀRĀYANA.
À work by name Kävyavrttiratnávali by Nárāyaṇa is described unded under No. 5173. The author tells us that he consulted works like Pārijātamañjarl, Prayogasära, Säbityaratnākaramsai, Szrāvali, Kivyacintamani, Kávyasudhodaya, etc. before compo. sing the work under reference. Who this Nārāyana is, we cannot say at present.
· GANGADHARĀDHVA RIN. Gangāåtarīdhvarin was the minister of the Maharatha kings of Tanjore. He was originally a native of Tiruvālangādu in the Chingleput District. Invited by the Maharagha kings he came down to Tanjore and took his residence in the newly constructed
