श्रीगणेशाय नमः ॥ इदं कविम्यः पूर्वेभ्यो नमोवाकं प्रशासहे ।
वन्देमहि च तो वाणीममृतामात्मनः कलाम् ॥ १॥ End:
इदमस्तु मारतवाक्यम् ॥ पापेभ्यश्च पुनाति वर्षयति च श्रेयांसि सेयं कथा
माङ्गल्या च मनोहरा च जगतो मातेव गङ्गेव च । तामेतां परिभावयन्तमिनयर्विन्यस्तरूपां बुधाः
शम्दब्रह्मविदः कः परिणतां प्राबस्य वाणीमिमाम् ॥ Colophon: Nil.
Subject : Uttararimacaritam 1-7 acts. Remarks:-The Ms. is in good condition.
Bhavabhūti, it is well known, was the court poet of Yabovarman and Lalitāpida and he was flourishing in the last quarter of the 8th century. Bhavabhūti was otherwise known as Umbveka and he was a pupil of Kumärila Bhakta.
There are several editions of this work, the most note worthy among then being the edition in the Harward Oriental Series by Dr. Belvalker. Consequently the several Mas. of this work have been arranged in a tabular form below.
