The Ahobalarya was the pupil of one Varadadeśikärys, son of Sri Rangacarya of Vädhülagotra.
Once God Sri Ranganatha, the presiding deity of Srirangam appeared in a dream before the author of the work-Viraraghavakavi and ordered him to compose a drama treating of the marriage of Mahavinu with Lakami. The present work was composed at the order of the God. The drama itself was acted before the audience who were present at the Caitrotsava at Sriranga. The work has not yet been
