भजे वेतण्डवदनं चण्डभानुनिभद्युतिम् । विघ्नदण्डप्रचण्डं तु शैलेश................ ।
....... ... ...सन्ततं वदने मम। वक्त्रं वारिजतुल्यवक्त्रसदृशं कोपातिकमवेति मे। कालक्षेपणमिन्दुमोचनविधौ कक्षन् शिवः पातु वः ॥
Balakayi, native of Mullandram in the North Arcot district, is the author of this drama. He was a contemporary of the famous Uddandakavi, the author of the Mallikāmăruta. Perhaps he is identical with the Bălakavi mentioned by Sri Nilakantha Diksita in the Prastāvanā to his Nalacaritanataka.
The work is available in print having been published by the Brividyi Press, Kumbhakonam.
