Ramacandrasekhara, the author of this drama was a contemporary of King Tulaja, the son of Pratāpasihma. Tulaja reigned between 1765-1757 A.D. at Tanjore. The drama noder reference seems to have been composed at a time when Pratäpsihma was alive and ruling the country. Pratāpasihma reigned from 1741 to 1764 A.D. The work deals with the story of the separation of Kalâvati from her beloved Nandaka and their re-anion later on.
