A commentary on the Vakyakarana described under No. 13495 by Jambunatha Mahabhaṣyabhaṭṭa Sundararaja, son of Anantanārāyaṇa, who was the pupil of Padmagarbhayati, a famous astrologer who lived at the time of Tippu Sultan. This work is written in accordance with the views of Nilakanṭhācārya of Nallur in Malabar and has been approved of by Somadeva, son of Ranganatha and grandson of Vañcayyar who had another son named Varadaraja and who was the pupil of Nrsimhasuri. The author is said to have lived in Viprasadgrāma (Papanallar) on the banks of the river Kāvēri.
Beginning:
म् || प्रणम्य करिशैलस्थं महः कमललोचनम् ।
भास्करीयानुसारेण गणितं क्रियते लघु ||
ज्योतिश्चक्रप्रवृत्ताय ज्योतीरूपाय भास्वते ।
ज्योतिर्दर्शाय भक्तेभ्यो ज्योतिश्शास्त्रकृते नमः ॥ श्रीनीलकण्ठातिनिविष्टचेताः श्रीसोमदेवानुजिघृक्षयैव ।
विचित्रवाक्यैर्विवृतं पुनश्च प्रकाशयेऽहं करणं लघीयः ॥ स्वाभीप्सितग्रन्थस्य निष्प्रत्यूहपरिसमाप्तयें प्रचयगमनविशिष्टाचारपरिपालनाभ्यां च स्वेष्टदेवतानमस्कारपुरस्कारेण चिकीर्षितमर्थ प्रतिजानीते - " प्रणम्य करिशैलस्थम्” इति ।
