This is an ancient work on poetics and rhetorio by Bhāmaba, son of Rakrilagõmin. According to the first stanza of the work it is called Kávyålarkara. It deals with the following five topics in its six Paricchēdas (vide the stanza following the colophon of the sixth Paricoboda) (1) Kávyaśarīra in 60 stanzas, (?) Alankara in 160 stanzas, (3) Dāņa in 50 stanzas, (4) Nyāya in 70 stanzas and (5) Sabdasuddhi in 60 stanzas. The work has been printed with the help of this MS. as an appendix to the Pratāparudriya in the Bombay Sanskrit Series. The author is mentioned in rhetorical works generally at the top of the list of rhetoricians and is considered by some to be prior to Daņdin, the author of the Kavyadarsa. Bhåmaba is referred to by Mammaţa. Udbbața, Anandavardhana, Vidyānātha and others. He mentions Rāmasarman, þákavardhana, Mēdhāvin, Nyasakāra, eto. Beginning:
