A drama in six acts, the plot of which may be briefly stated thus : Yaugandhariyaņa, the minister of Udayana, king of the Vatsa country, wished to bring about the marriage between the king and Padmavati, daughter of another king named Darsaka. For this purpose the minister made the king believe that his wife Vasavadattā was burnt away in a general conflagration in the village of Lāvaņaka and thereupon the marriage between Udayana and Padmavati took place. Vasavadattă did not really die, and the minister, disguising himself as a Brahmin, took Vasavadattă, and entrusted her to the custody of Padmåvati describing her as his sister. One day while on bed, the king of Vatsa had a dream of Vāsavadatta and lamented her loss to Padmāvati. The whole trick of the minister was afterwards discovered, and the king lived happily with his two wives The work has been printed in the Trivandrum Sanskrit Series according to which the author is Bhasa. Beginning :

उदयनवेन्दुसवर्णावासवदत्तावलौ बलस्य त्वाम् ।
