The plot of this drama is the same as that given in the Arthapancakanataka which is described under No. 12494 ante.
The author is the same as that of Visvagunadarsa, viz., Venkatagårva of Kanci, son of Sitämbă and Raghunatha, son of Appayācărya of Ātrēyagötra. The drama is said to have been staged on the occasion of the festival celebrated in honor of God Srinivasa of Tirupati. The work is said to have been completed by the author on the full moon day of the Prausthapada month in the year Prajātpatti. ____Date of transcription-Saturday, the full moon day and the 22nd of the Åvaņi month in the year Parābbava. Beginning:
श्रीमद्धाम समामनन्ति कमलं तद्वान्धवं वा ययो. रक्षीन्दीवररूपमाहुरथवा तद्वन्धुरूपं बुधाः । सावर्ण्य तटिता वपुः शुभतरं धत्तेऽथवा तहता भूयास्तां भुजगेन्द्रशैलवसती तौ दंपती संपदे ॥
(नान्द्यन्ते सूत्रधारः) (नेपथ्याभिमुखमवलोक्य) इह खलु निखिलभुवनजननस्थितिसंस्थितिमिरभिक्रीडतो भगवतो वक्षस्थलविलमलक्ष्मीचरणनलिनलाक्षासाक्षात्कारनिर्धारितपरब्रह्मभावस्य वरेण्यलावण्यश्रीकेलिगेहेन देहेन वार्षकवलाहकच्छायाडम्बरविडम्बिनो वेङ्कटेशकुटुम्बिनो देवस्य सेवावसरसमवेतैः हृद्यानवद्यविद्यानिषद्यायमानमानसैः सादरमहमादिश्ये ।
आविर्भावमुपेयिवान् शुभयशस्यत्रेः पवित्रे कुले श्रीमानप्पयदेशिकाध्वरिमणिर्जागर्ति कीर्त्या भुवि । अस्तोकैर्यदनुष्ठितैर्मखवरैर्हस्तिक्षमाभृत्पतिस्तां वैतानवपाहविःकबलनक्रीडां पुनः स्मारितः ॥ परमप्रभयातुलोऽकलङ्कः कृतदानश्च महाच्छविप्रहस्ते । . भुवि भाति विधूतदूषणश्रीः रघुनाथार्यमखी यथार्थनामा ॥
