The stanzas of the poem afford good illustrations of the figure of speech known as Yamaka. By Vāsudēva, a native of the Kērala country and a disciple of Bharataguru, a resident of Viprasattama village (Pāvānallür?) and a teacher of the Vēdas, at the time of the King Kulasēkhara. The stanzas appear in the form of Padavibhāga, i.e., the words simple and compound comprising the stanzas are written without Sandhi (euphony).
