said to have been disclosed by Sadāśiva, and each of the eight stanzas contains one of the syllables of the Mrtyužjayamantra. Beginning:
ओङ्काराक्षरादिव्याङ्गं सर्वकारणकारणम् । परमात्मा परब्रह्म मृत्युञ्जय नमोऽस्तु ते ॥ नकाराक्षरपूर्वश्च बालार्कनिभशोभितः ।
तदेव तत्पुरुषं ब्रह्म मृत्युञ्जय नमोऽस्तु ते ॥ End:
सदाशिवेन कथितं स्तोत्रं मृत्युञ्जयाष्टकम् ।
यः पठेत्सततं तस्य नास्ति मृत्युभयं तथा ।। Colophon:
इति मृत्युञ्जयाष्टकम् ।।

Eight stanzas in praise of Siva attributed to Yama, the god of death. The stanzas are writen in what is called the Muktapadagrasta figure of speech, according to which the fuali word of each quarter of a stanza is repeated as the first word of the succeeding quarter. Beginning:
ओं नमः करटिचर्मवाससे वाससेवितपरेतभूमये । भूमयेन वपुषा विराजते राजते हिमगिरौ तिरा(शिवा)य ते ॥ वामभागधृतवामलोचने लोचनेन हतमीनकेतने । केतने विहितचारुपुङ्गवे पुङ्गवे दिविषदां मनश्चरेः ॥ १ ॥
