A DESCRIPTIVE CATALOGUE OF
गन्धं पुष्पं च धूपं च तथा दीपं प्रकल्पयेत् । नैवेद्यं चैव ताम्बूलं प्रदक्षिणनमस्कृती ।
उद्वासनं च क्रमशः कुर्यात्पूजापरायणः ||
These offerings are given either with Vedic Mantras or with syllabic Mantras mentioned in the Tantras. The offerings of the Puja are sometimes pictured by the devotee to his imagination with the help of eulogistic verses or hymns. Then it is called मानसिक पूजा. As a preliminary to Puja and forming part of it are conducted what are cailed कलशपूजा, शङ्खपूजा, पीठपूजा, आत्मपूजा
and आवरणपूजा.

चिदाकाशे आत्मभीममानसिकपूजामात्मपूजां च करिष्ये पीठं यस्या धरित्री जलधरकलशं लिङ्गमाकाशमूर्तिः नक्षत्रं पुष्पमाला ग्रहगणकुसुमं नेत्रचन्द्रार्कवह्निम् । कुक्षिस्सप्तसमुद्रं भुजगिरिशिखरं सप्तपातालपादं वेदं वक्त्रं षडङ्गं दशदिशवदनं दिव्यलिङ्गं नमामि || आराधयामि मणिसन्निभमात्मलिङ्गं मायापुरीहृदयपङ्कजसन्निविष्टम् । श्रद्धानदीविमलचित्तजलाभिषेकैः नित्यं समाधिकुसुमैर्नपुनर्भवाय ॥
